Application Process
Students who are interested in attending Annunciation
Catholic School for the 2011 - 2012 school year must
complete an application with an application fee, and
submit academic transcripts,
letters of recommendation,
standardized test scores, Birth Certificate, and
Baptismal Certificate (if Roman Catholic) before
February 15, 2011.
Students who have completed an application are
required to complete a classroom shadow visit. Our
academic day runs from 8:10 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. All
applicants arrive in the morning and attend classes with
the students. For example, a student applying for Sixth
Grade in the Fall would attend morning classes with the
current Fifth Grade. This allows the applicant a chance
to interact with their future classmates and teachers as
well as to see what a typical day is at Annunciation.
All applicants should bring a snack, and applicants for
Grades 2 through 7 should bring lunch.
Interviews will take place at the time of the
student’s visit. These interviews are informal
opportunities for a member of the Admissions Committee
to meet a prospective student, answer any questions, and
to learn more about their academic and personal
interests. Students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 1
spend a half-day visiting Annunciation. Students in
Grade 2 through 7 spend an entire day. The morning is
with the current students, and the afternoon is for the
applicant to complete a reading assessment to determine
reading level. Applicants in Grades 4 through 7 also
complete a math assessment to determine academic level.
It is not necessary for the parents to stay with the
applicant since this is an opportunity for the
Annunciation community to meet and interact with the
student.
Annunciation Catholic School will schedule an
appointment for the required admissions testing (math
and reading) and shadow visit once the completed
application is submitted and initial review is
completed. Please note that shadow visits will not be
scheduled until all application materials are completed,
including academic transcripts and letters of
recommendation from the applicant’s current teacher(s).
Once all application requirements are completed,
decision letters will be mailed the week following
Admissions Testing/Shadow Visit.
Full disclosure of student information is expected
from the parent/guardian. All information must be
furnished for the application to be processed.
Application does not guarantee acceptance or admission.
